Aims and Scope

The Journal of Mechanical Ventilation is the first journal dedicated to the science of mechanical ventilation. The journal is peer-reviewed, open access journal that publishes original research articles, reviews, and case reports in all areas of mechanical ventilation and respiratory failure. The journal aims to provide a platform for researchers and clinicians to share their findings and ideas, and to promote the translation of research into clinical practice.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Mechanical Ventilation undergo a rigorous peer review process. The review process is double-blind, meaning that both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the field, who evaluate the quality and originality of the research, the clarity and coherence of the manuscript, and the relevance of the findings to the journal’s scope and mission.

Authors are informed of the outcome of the review process within 4 weeks of submission. The possible outcomes of the review process are acceptance, major or minor revision, or rejection. If revisions are requested, authors are given a specific timeframe to make the necessary changes and resubmit the manuscript. Manuscripts that are accepted are published online within 2-3 weeks of acceptance.
